Project 4

In this project, we were required to create mockups for a site that can store data from APIs. We also had to create use case diagrams and system maps alongside it to showcase a plan we have for the final project. I chose to do my project based on PokeAPI as I felt it would have been quite an interesting topic.

I began this project with a simple use case diagram which described the interactions between the user and the software.

My vision is to create a Pokémon site where users can choose their favorite Pokémon based on type and they could see their list of favorites after choosing them and they could choose to add or remove them as they please.

I wanted to create a site that was easy to navigate and allow Pokemon fans to see which Pokemon is what type. I created this design as I wanted to create a bit more appealing design to a list of Pokemon as most lists are very difficult to navigate because of the heavy amount of content on the pages. This was an individual assignment that in which I had a little help from my professor at the time. There were no such constraints, but I did have my fair share of roadblocks that I was easily able to overcome under the advice of my professor.

I also had to create a Data flow diagram that described how you would be able to use the final site and how the software would store the information for the "favorites".

This would be the final part of the process before the mockups. This would be my system map which shows my process on creating this project and the final site.

These would be the screenshots of my final mockups that I created for my final project. I plan to use a simple interface where the users can choose their Pokémon type and choose their favorites among them. They can even look at a list of their favorites once they choose them.

In the end, I would say that I reached all my goals and created an effective process to show its use by the audience. I learnt that I needed to make a design visually appealing so as to not make users feel overwhelmed by the information that they see on the website.
